Nyenrode Fund
The Nyenrode Fund (NF) is an important gauge of the financial support of Nyenrode Business Universiteit. The majority of the NF's board members are alumni. They actively communicate the foundation's objectives during reunions and various alumni gatherings.
Scholarships
Scholarships can make it attractive to follow an MSc or MBA at Nyenrode Business Universiteit. The additional benefit is that the university strengthens itself by attracting excellent students, who in turn become excellent alumni. The NF actively seeks out scholarship sponsors. As such, the alumni of the class of 1958 provide two scholarships of €7,500 each. The NF itself offers three scholarships of €10,000 over three years. An additional dimension of a number of the scholarships is the active guidance offered by a member of the assessment committee (often on a CEO level) to the winner of the scholarship. The prize therefore not only includes a certain financial sum but, and maybe more importantly, also an experienced coach. Postma Chair
The Nyenrode Fund also raises funds for the Postma Chair Fund Foundation - named after the university's former illustrious president - at the Center for Entrepreneurship. This chair is currently held by Professor Dr Karel J. Samsom. The resources for managing this chair are clearly divided from the other financial resources. The Postma Chair Fund Foundation also offers a €10,000 scholarship over three years.
Fundraising in the US
Led by Johan de Voogd (NF board member) the 'Friends of Nyenrode' is active in the United States. This organization manages a fund for students, but for tax reasons, this takes place in the US independently of the NF. The 'Friends' operate as sponsoring body for alumni who go to live in the States.
What could you do for the Nyenrode Fund?
Are you a Nyenrode alumnus, alumna or a friend of Nyenrode? If so, there are various ways you could support your alma mater. You could be intrinsically involved in a variety of guises. But your financial support is also critical for maintaining the university. You could financially support the Nyenrode Fund by means of a gift, a periodical donation recorded in a notary deed (so that it is entirely deductible from income tax), or a legacy.
