Program Overview

Program Overview
The Master of Science in Management program is a 16 month during program with three specializations. The program encompasses two phases: the pre-master and the master. The pre-master lays a foundation for the master’s phase. In this way all the students, even with no business background, meet the standard to start the masters phase.

Pre-master
The pre-master phase is an immersion into the foundations of business knowledge, which is required for the master phase. It makes sure that all students meet the same academic standard. Completion of the pre-master with a “pass” for all four courses is required. Only students that are able to do so are admitted to the master.

Master
The master phase starts in January and is dedicated to a specialization that you choose according to your professional interest. You can choose one of the three following tracks:
Each track has its own set of courses that are particular to the field. Some of the master program courses are relevant for all tracks and are followed by all students.

Internship / Thesis
The final challenge for the master phase is the three month internship and thesis. After the summer period you will start with your internship/thesis either abroad or in the Netherlands. Typically, you have to balance between applying your academic skills and working on an academic research problem within a company. Students typically team up in pairs and most thesis projects have the benefit of a business sponsor.

Study trip
Part of the master is an international study trip to an emerging economy in which you participate in business visits, run projects and follow lectures. During the two weeks of the study trip, students will learn how companies work within other cultures and within the global market.
Their will be two groups, one studytrip will go to a country within Europe and the other one outside Europe. The studytrip within Europe will be covered by the tuition fee. For the studytrip towards a country outside Europe, you will need to contribute a certain amount yourself.
